islamist ideology

The Times of London hosts a feature on Ayaan Hirsi Ali, acknowledging in an editoral in the same issue that Ali's views are “inevitably color[ed by her] experiences [growing up in Muslim societies],” where she was subjected as a youngster to genital mutilation, violent inculcation of Islamic dogma, sexual discrimination, and an (abortive) forced marriage.

In other words, when Ali talks about the trouble with Islam, she does so from a position of real-life experience.

And since that real-life experience doesn't match the editors' pre-conceived ideology, Ali must be the one who is wrong.

Read Benny Morris' The Islamic Reformation. Here's an excerpt:

But back to the central issue, Ayaan Hirsi Ali's editorially repudiated interview. In it she said: “Islam is incompatible with the rule of law because it says only Allah is the law and not human beings.” She charged that the West was engaged in appeasing Muslims. She denied that to call for an end to forced marriage, female genital mutilation, honor killings and a life of submission to males or Islam was a form of “racism” (the word commonly hurled at anyone

geert wilders islam trial fitnah dutch holland politics ideology court case prosecutionGeert Wilders, the controversial Dutch politician famously - but unsuccessfully so far - prosecuted by the Netherlands for his anti-Islamic rhetoric, never has a dull moment. Indeed, even those around him, connected to him in any way, seem to find themselves hauled into his Never-ending Controversy.

Let's consider the past few months in the wild ride that is Geert Wilders' career.

'A crisis within the criminal law division of the court.'

In October, Geert Wilders' prosecution ground to a halt. This was, mainly, because of two things. First, the Dutch Public Prosecutor's office said that Wilders should be acquitted on all charges. Second, all three judges handling Wilders' case were dismissed after Tom Schalken - one of the court of appeal judges that forced the Dutch public prosecutor to lay charges against Geert Wilders in 2009 - attended the same dinner function as one of Wilders' expert witness for the trial, and got into a discussion with that...More >>

The West is losing ground on multiple fronts against the focused efforts of radical Islamists, says former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The pessimistic assessment was delivered in New York as American travelers are being treated to a potentially never-ending terror alert for Europe.

Mr Blair said a tendency to "sympathise" with extremism was not only dangerous but also disempowering for moderate Muslims, because it made people resent them as much as extremists.

He said he was "intrigued" by the fact that western leaders, including Barack Obama, the US President, felt the need to condemn Terry Jones, a pastor who threatened to burn a Koran.

"Suppose an Imam, with thirty followers, in Karachi was to burn a bible," he said. "I can barely imagine a murmur of protest. It wouldn't be necessary for the President of Pakistan to condemn it because no one here would remotely consider he supported it."

The former prime minister also called on the west to make it "crystal clear" to Iran that their acquisition of a nuclear bomb would be unacceptable to the entire "civilised world".

"Go and read the speech of Iran's President to the United Nations just days

islam will dominate the world islamist politics canada terrorism ideologySadly, the threat of terrorism has surfaced in Canada again.

Three Muslim Canadian men, now possibly a fourth, with alleged links to Al Qaeda now face grave federal charges. Four years after the arrests of the infamous Toronto 18, questions still remain as to why some Canadians of Muslim origin would wish their fellow citizens such enormous harm.

Many speculate poverty and socioeconomic marginalization as possible reasons for Islamist anger. Clearly, however, the accused men did not suffer economic or job-related discrimination. The three men are professionals: One is a doctor, one is an X-ray technologist, and the third trained to be an electrical engineer. One can therefore only draw the grim conclusion that extremism, religious violence and terrorism are ideologically based.

Instead of being thankful to their country for providing them such tremendous opportunity and privilege, these miscreants wish to repay Canada’s innocent citizens with mayhem and bloodshed. They prefer in stead to be governed by hate-filled worldviews elaborated by the votaries of radical ideologies centered on the notion of armed jihad.
