A coalition of Western powers has begun targeting Gaddafi's military with airstrikes. The French drew first blood.

The Arab League did come together last week against Gaddafi in theory. But once again, it is left to the USA and the Western powers to put mere words into action, putting the final kibosh on a notorious dictator.

This will not stop until Gaddafi is dead. A memorable bit of dialogue from The Untouchables film comes to mind in reference to how the authorities might deal with another outlandish gangster:

Malone: You said you wanted to get Capone. Do you really wanna get him? You see what I'm saying is, what are you prepared to do?
Ness: Anything within the law.
Malone: And *then* what are you prepared to do? If you open the can on these worms you must be prepared to go all the way. Because they're not gonna give up the fight, until one of you is dead.
Ness: I want to get Capone! I don't know how
