And NATO allies secretly breathe a sigh of relief as the Russians maintain their stance effectively supporting the Assad regime: "Keep us the hell out of that mess, please."
So 12% of Russians think that a Libya-style intervention is warranted while 45% disagree. That is a very big difference, one that would be hard to explain away as pure statistical chance or “bad data.” Looking at the numbers, it would appear that Putin’s decision to categorically reject any attempted Western military involvement in Syria is popular among Russians.
