Podcast Episode 6. Blazing Cat Fur on Islam, PC Politics and HRCs
Blazing Cat Fur is a famous (or infamous?) right-wing Canadian blogger based out of Toronto. Bestselling author and conservative pundit Mark Steyn once said of him:
Listen, Blazing Catfur is breaking the stories that too many of Canada's brain-dead mono-dailies don't want to go anywhere near. It's tough work. It's very serious work. It's a very funny thing that's happening in the world right now, when wacky websites with screwy names, little stories turn up on them and then eventually one or two of the newspapers pick them up and then eventually, some government minister in Ottawa will react and take action to it. But it starts with the nothing little websites with the funny names which is why we need to keep them going.
Well, Blazing Cat Fur has done it again this month, breaking a story about politically correct bureaucrats in the Toronto District School Board apparently breaking their own rules about providing a secular public school environment. They have been allowing an imam to conduct regular and gender-segregated prayer services for students who get out of class to participate -- all thanks to some misplaced and short-sighted ideology. We took some time to catch up with BCF about this controversy as well as related issues surrounding Canadian Human Rights Commissions.
