The widely respected, and highly reputable, organization, Act For Israel, has launched a campaign to raise funds to assist Israel’s fire relief efforts.
The deadly forest fires broke out near Carmel Forest in northern Israel on December 2, 2010. This colossal forest fire has claimed the lives of at least 40 prison guards trapped in a bus while on a mission to rescue Palestinian prisoners from the blaze, with many others injured according to the Israeli rescue service. Emergency crews have evacuated hundreds of people near the Carmel Forest, including inmates from Damon prison. The fire, still raging at the time of this post, in the Carmel area, has engulfed kibbutz Beit Oren. Israeli officials are calling the fire the most catastrophic in Israeli history.

Does anyone remember the days of curb-side check-in at the airport? Or when you could stroll up to the check-in counter 10 minutes before take-off, then hurry to the gate and settle into your seat while the pilot was still taking off his jacket? Identity checks? The utility bill in your coat pocket proved who you were, (if anyone asked at all). Security involved making sure your seatbelt was properly fastened. Now, where is the drinks trolley? When the latest round of peace talks came around between Israelis and Palestinians, everyone knew it was only a matter of time before Hamas reminded the world of its own low regard for any negotiations with "the Zionist entity". Some critics of the limited results of negotiations suggest that including Hamas is the only way to make progress. But it's difficult to see how Israeli negotiators are supposed to deal with representatives from a genocidal movement openly committed to a Palestinian state "from the river to the sea" built over the ashes of the world's only Jewish state.

If one were to accept the insistence of disgraced former UK MP George Galloway and his supporters, one would assume that Galloway is a peace activist; that Galloway desires and cherishes peace.
