Things Were So Much Better Before Women Got the Right to Vote
According to American bizarro-pundit Rush Limbaugh, who claimed almost immediately after he made his comment that he was "joking". But it actually sounds like he was cut off in mid-sentence (by radio-show staff making sure he didn't lose more sponsors?) before he retracted his comment with an out-of character on-air backtracking.
RUSH. "I can do one better than that... When women got the right to vote is when it all went downhill because that's when votes started being cast with emotion and maternal instincts that government ought to reflect..."
PHONE-IN GUY. (Ignoring Rush's comment) Well, you know the 18 year olds, their only financial knowledge is 'hey, I need money. I'll ask mom for it'. And with the state of education these days, I'm not sure there's that much history or government taught..."
RUSH. (Interrupting - possibly at the instruction of the radio station's "Rush-being-a-dumbass censor") "Look, I'm joking about the women's vote, I'm getting a little frustrated here..."
A joke? Um, where's the funny?
How does this guy have any sponsors (or listeners) left?
