Want Some Poutine With That Jihad?
Thanks to WikiLeaks, we know the Al Sunnah Al Nabawiah Mosque in Montreal is considered by the U.S. military to be a top recruiting ground for al-Qaeda.
It must be so easy to to recruit willing fighters because Canada has been run by a military-backed dictatorship for the last 40 years that cracks down on legitimate dissent by pious protesters.
Oh, wait. Canada has one of the longest-running democracies in the entire world? Religious freedom is entrenched in its society?
Then maybe it's the inability of Canada and Montreal in particular to provide jobs for its youth, who naturally seek alternatives to working in the bankrupt economy. Oh, hold on a second...
Montreal industries include aerospace, electronic goods, pharmaceuticals, printed goods, software engineering, telecommunications, textile and apparel manufacturing, tobacco and transportation. The service sector is also strong and includes civil, mechanical and process engineering, finance, higher education, and research and development. In 2002, Montreal ranked as the 4th largest centre in North America in terms of aerospace jobs.[9]Greater Montreal had a GDP of $120 billion in 2005, placing it 39th in the world.[10] It is expected to grow to almost $126 billion in 2008 and $140 billion by 2012.
Hmmm. That's so weird. I suppose it has something to do with poutine or the long heritage of Catholicism in Quebec.
