UN Approves All Necessary Measures In Libya. Hello, Egypt
Gaddafi is going down. It's now just a matter of time. A United Nations resolution has authorized a no-fly zone and pretty much whatever it takes to smash the tyrant's resurgent forces.
Here's an idea for those who don't much like the idea of the USA or NATO taking the lead on this:
1) Egypt shares a long border with Libya. The city of Bangazi where the rebels are holding out is right next door.
2) Egypt has been the recipient of $2 billion in aid from the USA since 1979, mostly in the form of military equipment and training. The Egyptian armed forces are the largest force on the African continent.
3) Egypt is a member of the United Nations that just authorized all necessary measures against the Gaddafi regime. And the people of Egypt have just overthrown their own dictator. Now would be a great time for this revolutionary nation to show their military who's in charge.
I think you know where I'm going with this.
