In case you were wondering. Apparently, the only source quoted for the story suggesting the Talibs were down with educating girls and women came from... the government of Afghanistan.

No member of the Taliban has ever suggested such a thing. On the contrary, according to every public statement on this score, the "scholars" have made clear that women are basically baby factories, except when they are to be used as punching bags.

Anyone else interested in why the government of Afghanistan is doing PR for the sworn enemies of the state - not to mention women, everywhere?
